How can I talk to him normally when he just seems to act awkwardly and not normal around me?

Whenever i just try to talk to him, he gets all awkward which makes me act awkward! GOSH, I really like him and whenever i have the chance to talk to him i notice he gets really shy and he looks like he's panicking inside! I really can feel aura inside him! he looks at me in the corner of his eyes and one time in math class,, I once looked at him and for 2 seconds.. those beautiful yet intense and blank expressioned face just seemed glued on me for 2 seconds. i wanted to smile back but he made the butterflies attack me! He doesn't act normally with me :( and that's what i hate. he acts really close to my friends and the other girls but EVERYTHING just seems awkward and (all glances) and (eye contact) whenever i'm close to him. whenever we're across from each other, he looks at me and just looks at his friends and looks down. and one time, when somehow he left the cafeteria.. he went back inside for something while he didnt know i was looking at him when he entered.. but then he turned around and looked directly and straight towards me and i quickly looked away. Omygawshhh! i had the butterflies. >:| and when i congratulated him from his award for student of the month, i could tell he was nervous and just no FREAKING RESPONSE. the "bummer" part is that he just went back with his gf and nothings happening between them at all. its like "oh okay we're back together, whats happening now". -___- everything's confusing me. Anyone? >:|
