Is it normal to feel vaginal numbness during losing your virginity?

ok I had sex for the first time last night and i was on my period and the first time..yea.. it hurt.. but a little more into it I started to feel numb.. and the second time i wanted to see if it would feel any better but i was still feeling numb...is this normal?
